With a roster chock full of talented, passionate teaching artists, the Hip Hop Fundamentals crew conducts memorable and inspirational workshops and in-school residencies through Pennsylvania and New Jersey — as well as throughout the country.

So far in this podcast series, Manny Faces has spoken to educators and counselors who recognize the power of hip-hop based curriculum, hip-hop based therapy and counseling, extolling just the overall importance of a culturally connected teacher-to-student relationship. “What I love about Hip Hop Fundamentals,” Manny says, “Is that they throw in the use of dance to convey some of the same lessons and messages that are often left to rap. It shows that hip-hop’s elements — the multiple facets of the culture’s artistic side — are not only alive and well, but capable of using their own unique characteristics to encourage expression, education and inspiration.”
